This collection consists of several documents in Spanish from the time of the Spanish-American War in the Philippines in 1898. The first document is a notice of an administrative inspection of the dock yard and ships, dated January 22, 1898. The next documents are letters regarding military plans relating to the cruiser Don Juan de Austria and to the delivery of two other boats, dated March 31 and April 15, 1898. The final document is an appraisal of the materials and wages required to fully arm the cannoneer in Mindanao, an island in the Philippines. The appraisal is dated February 25, 1898. Each document is accompanied by a typed English translation.
