John Jay Deposition Testimony, 1792 October 24-1793 November 28, undated
This collection includes the original and five replicas, from 1792 to 1793, of a deposition concerning the execution of David VanHorne’s last will and testament with respect to his estates in the state of New York. The deposition is on behalf of John Jay and Ann VanHorne, the daughter of the deceased, who are executing the will on behalf of its originator.
The deposition mentions the estates of David VanHorne and outlines the specific plots of land in question such as 116 rods of lot no. 29. The document points out that the outer limits have been marked off at the outermost Northern, Eastern, Western, and Southern points by land stakes with stones piled around them. Lot no. 20 is also mentioned.
