John Fain Anderson Statements Regarding the Hoss Apple and Hoss Family History, 1928 February 4-April
In these statements, John Fain Anderson discusses the Hoss Apple, the Magott (or Margrett) Apple, and the Robertson Apple, provides a sketch of the Hoss family, and enumerates his memories of Washington County, Tennessee. His sketch of the Hoss family includes information about his own family beginning with his grandfathers, John R. Fain (d. 1869) and John Anderson (1765-1850), and ending with his parents, Samuel Anderson (1805-1849) and Hannah Crawford Fain (1811-1891). Also included is a letter from Hubert S. Lyle to Mary (Hoss) Headman recommending that she speak to John Fain Anderson regarding the history of the Hoss family. All of these items are typewritten transcriptions of the originals.
