This two page report, written by a select committee of the 1st session of the 18th Congress on February 24, 1824, discusses Willie Blount's claim for reimbursement of monies borrowed on behalf of Tennessee during the War of 1812. It notes that Willie Blount drew bills of exchange on the Government of the United States, to the amount which he borrowed, and which afterwards paid. That other sums were drawn by him, making in all the sum of $507,306.14, which was principally disposed of by order of the Secretary of War. Blount also asks for compensation for extra services rendered while he was Governor of Tennessee. The report ends with the committee's reasons for denying Blount's request.
