Tennessee Valley Authority Maps of Watts Bar and Fort Loudoun Reservoirs, 1943-1946
Box 1 of this collection houses copies of The Smoky Mountains Hiking Club Handbook and pocket maps documenting the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. The Handbook, which serves as a written record of the club's adventures, covers the years 1926, 1928, 1936-1939, 1940-1949, 1950-1952, 1960-1961, 1963-1964, 1966-1969, 1970-1979, and 1980-1988.
The pocket maps were published by the Department of the Interior in 1971, 1973, 1978, 1980, and 1988.
Box 2 contains SMHC and Happy Trails newsletters, photographs of popular destinations, numerous publications, guides regarding trail and backcountry hiking, auto touring, trails, and events, and brochures detailing the history of the park, containing maps of the park, describing the Park's plants and animals, advertising special events, and promoting attractions in Pigeon Forge, Sevierville, Gatlinburg, and Townsend. The final box in this collection houses six maps showing the Tennessee River. Four show the Watts Bar Reservoir and the Clinch and Emory Rivers; two depict the Fort Loudoun Reservoir.
