This scrapbook was presented to J.G.M. Ramsey by Reverend Perez Dickinson Cowan of Jonesboro, Tennessee and by the former presented to Mrs. M.B.C. Ramsey, Mecklenburg Place, Knoxville, Tennessee on June 5, 1877. It includes clipppings, letters, telegrams, permission to visit the Confederat States of America on August 24, 1863, confederate money, stamps, facsimilies of famous autographs, and a commemorative record of a centennial celebration. A loan certificate to the Confederate States of America, including most of the payment coupons, has been removed to the oversize materials.
