This collection consists of several letters written to William A. Haskins in regards to his research for his masters thesis at Colorado State University. His thesis was a rhetorical analysis comparing the speeches of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and Malcolm X. The letters are from Alex Haley, Coretta Scott King, an editor at Pathfinder Press, the assistant director of the Chicago Urban League, and the program development director of the Afro American Cultural Development Foundation. They are written between September 15, 1970, and February 26, 1971. The topics of the letters include obtaining copies of various speeches, discussing personal experiences with Dr. King and Malcolm X, and providing sources for further research.
