Paul C. Trammell Papers, undated
This collection consists of a corrected proof of Paul C. Trammell’s detailed memoir about his experiences in the United States Marine Corps beginning in 1940. The memoir provides details about his time in ROTC while he was attending Knoxville High School and his attempts to enlist in the Marine Corps. The manuscript also describes his time training at Parris Island as well as his experience in the Fleet Marine Force as part of the First Marine Division in Cuba, Samoa, Wallis Island, Bougainville, New Caledonia, Guadalcanal, and Iwo Jima. The photocopied manuscript is 166 pages long.
