The collection includes correspondence from Leslie Schneider to his mother during 1943 along with newspaper and magazine clippings from the homefront. Various pieces of memoribilia from Schneider's service including a copy of Japanese propaganda is also included. A compact disc with the collection saved as digital files is located in the last folder of box one.

The second, oversized box contains multiple large-format publications such as military newspapers and magazines. Marine newspapers published near the end of the war highlight Allied advancements and camp/barracks life. A collection of clippings from Life Magazine and the Saturday Evening Post detail the war effort at home and on multiple fronts.
