This collection includes records from Horace Simpson Jr.'s service in the US Army and memorabilia from his time in Europe. Records include a promotion and his separation qualification record. Other documents of interest include newsletters from the Finance Replacement Training Center and the USS Gustavus, a substantial training guide from Fort Benjamin Harrison, and paperwork for his leave to Switzerland. Memorabilia includes information for soldiers visiting Europe as well as general travel guides and postcards. Also included is a wooden statue has a photograph of Simpson that has been mounted on wood and trimmed to shape.
