Dr. Kozar interviewed sculptor Joe Brown, the only apprentice to R. Tait McKenzie, for his articles and books on Brown’s mentor. After Brown’s death in 1986, Dr. Kozar honored the friendship that they cultivated over decades in journal articles about Brown and his sports sculpture. This subseries includes Brown’s personal papers and documents related to the Joe Brown Foundation, of which Kozar was a board member. It also includes Dr. Kozar’s research materials and photograph files pertaining to Brown’s life and artwork.
