Bardill, Mildred T., 1997 July 9

 File — Box: 2, item: 3
Identifier: III
From the Collection:

This collection contains oral histories about the Great Smoky Mountains National Park through interviews of people who lived in the area in the early twentieth century. The interviews discuss the history of the land and resources in the Great Smoky Mountains region with a specific focus on Cades Cove. These interviews were conducted by students from the University of Tennessee in Anthropology and Appalachian Folklore classes with Dr. Benita Howell. The collection consists of a variety of media by which the students turned in their projects. The first series contains files that describe some of the projects while the remaining series contain the hard copies of the actual projects themselves, either in the form of a typed interview transcript, cassette tape, or photographs.
