Rough Notes for Sons and Brothers, undated
James R. Stokely’s friendship with writer Thomas Wolfe inspired him to continue Wolfe’s literary legacy after the writer’s death in 1938. This subseries includes biographical notes and research material on Wolfe, and drafts of an unpublished dramatic adaptation of Wolfe’s Look Homeward, Angel. The subseries also contains drafts of short stories and poetry, rough notes for books and other writing, and letters to the editor of the Newport Plain Talk.
