Correspondence, 1908-2006, undated
This series contains Wilma Dykeman and James R. Stokely Jr.’s personal, financial, and professional correspondence from immediate and extended family, friends, acquaintances, and business associates. The letters document their freelance writing careers, organization involvement, and awards and honors received. The series also includes letters from aspiring authors and genealogists looking to them for advice on writing and searching for family history.
Organization Note: Letters in WDS folders may be addressed to both WDS and JRS Jr. from 1940 until 1977. Afterward, correspondence may be addressed to both WDS and her mother Bonnie Cole Dykeman until 1992. Correspondence dated in the 1950s up to the 1970s may include childhood drawings and classwork by WDS and JRS Jr.'s children.
