This collection dates ca. 1900-1942. It contains materials belonging to Samuel M. Bain and his family. Bain was a plant pathologist and botany professsor for the University of Tennessee.

Materials in this collection include: three scrapbooks belonging to the Bain family; an Army Navy Diary belonging to Henry Bain; glass plate negatives of Smoky Mountain scenes; a child's Christamas bookmark from 1942; and photocopies of Smoky Mountain Scenes.
