Dear Old Elm-Clad Hill, undated
The current Alma Mater of the University of Tennessee was adopted in 1928 after a contest sponsored by the musical organizations of the school. This collection includes the lyrical version written by Frances Johnston before 1928 and also the official accepted version, Mary Fleming Meek's On a Hallowed Hill
, in sheet music form from 1928. The collection also includes a booklet of sheet music titled Songs of the Volunteer that published in 1929. The other two pieces, Dear Old Elm-Clad Hill
by J.D. Bond and Pi Kappa Alpha's Sweetheart
, are not dated. These pieces are all related to the culture and history of the University of Tennessee.
