Hal Ernest Drawings, circa 1940s
This collection features several original drawings of soldiers and combat scenes drawn by Hal Ernest as a child during World War II. Ernest listened to the radio in the evenings and sketched based on what he heard. Also included is a typed personal narrative composed by Ernest and an article about his father's campus drugstore, Ellis and Ernest, in Knoxville, Tenn.
