This collection features materials related to James Porter Taylor's interactions with the Office of Naval Officers Procurement and the Selective Service during World War II while he worked for the Tennessee Valley Authority. The material is arranged into four topical series.

Series I: Classification cards includes several classification cards.

Series II: Correspondence includes many letters sent to and from Taylor, as well as letter from TVA to the United States Armed Forces recruiting departments.

Series III: Service documents includes Taylor's personal documents and those from the Office of Naval Officers Procurement and the Selective Service.

Series IV: TVA Memorandums includes two memorandums from the Tennessee Valley Authority
