This collection includes assorted documents, photographs, and newspapers depicting Paul Harvey's service in the military during World War I, as well his life after his service. The collection is arranged into nine series.

Series I: Correspondence primarily features letters and postcards from Paul Harvey to his sister, J.H. Thompson. Series also includes V-mail to Dorothy Harvey, a get-well card to G.H. Harvey, and various unaddressed postcards.

Series II: Military Documents features special orders from the 356th Infantry, special passes awarded to Harvey, and a certificate of his promotion to Corporal. Also included are handbooks for drill regulations and war workers, as well as a book of the Songs of the Soldiers and Sailors. Series also features a letter from the YMCA outlining Harvey's commitment to this organization.

Series III: Veteran Documents include certificates of disability awards given to Paul Harvey and four records of his enlistment during WWI.

Series IV: War Ration Books include ration cards, stamps and war ration books.

Series V: Documents Written by Harvey includes original documents "The Moose Hunter," "Here and There" with the 89th Division, Armistice Day, and two copies of "Hey Buddy! What Outfit?"

Series VI: Newspapers features various newspaper clippings and a copy of the Picture Press Gravure Section from 1918.

Series VII: Memorial Photographs includes photographs from two veterans' memorials and documents depicting the request that Paul Harvey be included in each memorial.

Series VIII: Books features a copy of My Folks And The Civil War from 1994 and newspaper articles about submitting information for the "My Folks" book series.

Series IX: Other includes a handwritten copy of Paul Harvey's obituary, a plaque featuring an anonymous poem, and a pamphlet of the regimental history of The Fighting Fifth.
