The collection contains of the second edition of the anonymous Portuguese satire Loja de Oculos politicos. Fantazia moral ou invectiva, pela qual o cortezao pode comprar e escolher Os de Melhor Gosto para desobrir verdades, ver a boa fortuna, conhecer os homens sem os tratar, &c., or the "shop of political eyeglasses." The item is in sheets, and consists of 14 pages.
First published in 1804, the "shop of political eyeglasses" is an anonymous satire written in Portuguese. The book consists of a series of vignettes of various social types walking into an eyeglass store in search of glasses for various purposes: to see far, to not see anything upsetting, to look like a gentleman, etc. Each character's tale is a vehicle for political satire.
