Appendix II contains miscellaneous papers sent by Brownlow to Temple during the years 1890 - 1899 as material for Temple's books. They consist of extracts from the Knoxville Whig, 1839 to 1865, quotations from various other publications, and narratives and comments by John B. Brownlow on a variety of subjects and persons (chiefly those of the Civil War Era), including the following:
