Political Papers, 1938-1939
This collection contains five series: Politcal Papers, Ephemera, Posthumous Materials, Scrapbooks and Journals, and flat-file oversized materials.
Series I. Political Papers: This series includes memoranda, official documents, Senate resolutions, correspondence, and other documents directly relating to Graves’ work in state and national politics. The original order of these papers was chronological, and they have been left that way. Series II. Ephemera: This series includes photographs, loose press clippings about Graves and his wife, and papers documenting various academic and social honors. The photographs are in one folder and everything else is in another. Series III. Posthumous materials: This series includes condolence letters and correspondence of Mrs. Graves, and documents and press clippings relating to various honors bestowed upon the Senator after his death (a law scholarship in his name at UT, etc.) . Series IV. Scrapbooks and Journals: This series includes a journal and several scrapbooks. Series V Oversize flat-file material: This series contains oversized flat-file materials, including Graves' license to practice law and a schematic for his memorial.
The material in this collection is in English.
