Montgomery Blair Letter Signed by Andrew Jackson, 1836 January 26
This collection contains one letter written by Montgomery Blair on January 26, 1836, with a note at the bottom from General Alexander Macomb. President Andrew Jackson approved and signed the letter. Blair penned this letter to the Secretary of War asking to be reinstated in the Army after hearing of the violence in Florida caused by the Seminole War. General Macomb confirmed this request and sent the letter to Jackson for approval, who then signed it.
