Correspondence – Regarding Colmery’s Death, 1942 September 21-1946 November 22
This collection documents the World War II service and subsequent death of Charles Colmery Jr. Included are correspondence from Colmery to his family during his wartime service, letters relating to Colmery’s death, and a scrapbook of photographs documenting Colmery’s life from childhood to military service. Also included is a copy of a 1986 issue of Indiana Military History Journal which includes Charles Johnson’s article, “Warning-Warning: Strange Ships Entering Harbor!” which details Colmery’s experience on the USS Quincy in 1942.
