This collection consists of correspondence, meeting minutes, reports, newsletters, publications, legal and financial documents, petitions, membership lists, and more for clubs, organizations, and historical notes related to the town of Elkmont in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. These documents are representative of Lynn Faust's participation in efforts to preserve Elkmont. This collection is broken down into 6 series: Elkmont Preservation Committee Documents, Subject Files, Legal and Government Documents, Publications, Non-Print Media, and Oversize.

Series I: Elkmont Preservation Committee is broken down into 10 sub-series arranged by specific organizations which functioned in the GSMNP.

Series II: Subject Files are topical files that have been preserved with their original titles and order as made by the creator.

Series III: Legal and Government Documents are primarily correspondence with the Department of the Interior and photocopies of leasing and legal papers regarding Elkmont.
