The publications subseries consists of periodicals and books, arranged by format. There are two boxes (1 linear foot) of newspapers, magazines, gallery-related material, literary journals, a couple of miscellaneous legal publications, and international newsletters. The periodicals are arranged by format, then by language (English or French being the two major languages), and then by date. The rest of the subseries (4 boxes, or 2 linear feet) contain books that seem to have been collected by Beauford Delaney. This includes books that are annotated in a way consistent with other Delaney notes or drawings, books inscribed by the author, books inscribed by others, and books that contain no annotations that seem consistent with Delaney. The 60 books in the collection are a fraction of the 360-some books that initially came with the rest of the collection; the books that are not in the collection were either duplicates or in very poor condition.
