Writ regarding Samuel Smith and Anne Smith, 1797 October 10
This collection includes two writs addressed to the Sheriff of Hawkins County, Tennessee, and are signed by Frances A. Ramsey, clerk of the Superior Court. The first document requires the Sheriff to collect the Eight Dollars and Fifty Nine Cents and One Tenth of a cent of court costs and charges that Samuel Smith still owes Anne Smith. The second writ instructs him to collect the Twenty Five Dollars and Forty Two Cents and two thirds that Thomas Eldridge recovered from Thomas King in court costs and charges. All of these monies are to be delivered to the Court when it meets in Knoxville on March 26, 1798.
