Ex-Slave Bounty and Pension Association Certificate of Membership, 1898 November 11
This certificate of membership in the Ex-Slave Bounty and Pension Association was issued to Rollie Johnson of Loudon, Tennessee in 1898. According to the certificate, membership fees ($0.25) are used to aid in the passage of the Ex-Slave Bounty and Pension Bill and monthly dues ($0.10) go to aid the ex-slave movement and raise funds to promote the passage of the aforesaid bill.
The certificate includes the signatures of Johnson as well as association leaders, including Isaiah H. Dickerson. The certificate was printed by C.R. and H.H. Hatch out of Nashville, Tennessee.
