Letter, William G. Brownlow in Knoxville, Tenn. to Allen A. Hall in Washington, D.C., 1849 November 8

 File — Box: 1, Folder: 1, item: 4

Brownlow complains of recent political appointments in East Tennessee, which he feels have weakened the Whig party considerably. He also declares that he no longer wishes to print Post Office and State Department advertising in his paper, as the Administration, or those who have its interest in keeping in Washington, have written out here to know if I am conducting the anti-Administration paper here and if my paper has taken the place of the late Knoxville Standard.
