ALS. Gives war news. Mentions the recruitment of fifteen deserters from General Braxton Bragg's army. Reports that many rank and file Confederate soldiers have applied for amnesty. States that Andrew Johnson and had telegraphed General Wool asking for the arrest of General William H. Carroll. Mentions an assassination attempt made upon Dr. Peters at Brownlow's boarding house. States that 200 rebels came in last night, deserters from Bragg.
