Scrapbook of Nellie Kenyon Day
at the UT College of Communications with pictures, letters, and students' reports on Kenyon as well as miscellaneous items in the pockets, 1973-1978
This addition to the Nellie Kenyon Scrapbooks, 1917-1967 (MS.789), contains a scrapbook on the Nellie Kenyon Day at UT's College of Communications on January 8, 1974. In it are letters about the event, pictures from her lecture, and reports that journalism students wrote on her afterwards, plus miscellaneous items in the sleeves; all of which date between 1973 and 1978. There is also a November 1977 copy of The Tennessean Magazine in this collection, with articles by Kenyon and H. L. Mencken on the Scopes Monkey Trial.
Interested researchers may also wish to consult June N. Adamson's August 1971 thesis, Selected Women in Tennessee Newspaper Journalism, which contains a biography of Nellie Kenyon.
