Letter from W. Dwight Reinhardt in Tupelo, MS to Sarah Blackburn in Yadkin County, NC, 1862 July 8
W. Dwight Reinhardt's July 8, 1862 letter to Sarah "Sallie" Blackburn in Yadkin County, North Carolina, discusses that the 23rd Tennessee Regiment (CSA) will soon move from Tupelo, Mississippi into Tennessee.
He also discusses how he had hoped to come to North Carolina but "the conscript came along & I have to stay which I do cherfully [sic]." After briefly passing along stories of a skirmish involving the 4th North Carolina regiment, Reinhardt concludes the letter with a plea for a quick response.
