Letter from Bishop Thomas F. Gailor of the Diocese of Tennessee in Sewanee, Tenn., to Mrs. Ellinor M. Gillespie
about the opening of Stones River National Park, with photograph of the Bishop, 1932 July 5
The Eleanor Gillespie Papers, 1932, include a sermon, prayers, and two letters pertaining to the Stones River National Military Park opening. The letter from Bishop Thomas F. Gailor refers to the prayer at the Park's opening with a photograph of the Bishop attached. Senator Elwin L. Davis's letter discusses the possibility of including the proceedings of the Park's opening in the Congressional Record. A copy of a T. B. Larimore sermon, critiquing popular ideas about the day of crucifixion of Jesus Christ, and the local prayer meeting document with two prayers are included. The only dated documents are the letters from July 1932.
