The Dr. Herbert Acuff Scrapbook, 1948-1955 (bulk 1948), consists primarily of congratulatory letters sent to Acuff upon his election as president of the International College of Surgeons in 1948. These letters were written by fellow physicians and Knoxville-area civic leaders. This scrapbook has been unbound, and the letters were removed from plastic sleeves. Also included are loose items that were found inserted in the front of the book. These items primarily date from after Acuff's death in 1951. Included are letters of condolence to Acuff's widow, copies of articles written by Acuff, and newspaper clippings about Acuff and his wife.
