This collection contains a two volume set of papers on the Burchfiel family compiled in 2000 in conjunction with the dedication of the Burchfiel Geography Building on the University of Tennessee Knoxville campus.
The first folder includes a mini history of William W. Burchfiel Sr.; statements of gratitude and appreciation by his daughter, Margaret Burchfiel Montgomery; various statements of tribute and memorial by family and friends, and an in-depth genealogy of the Burchfiel family. Also included in this folder is a certificate given to William W. Burchfiel Jr. conferring membership in the First Families of Tennessee. The second folder is an extensive index to the first volume.
