This collection contains a two volume set of papers on the Burchfiel family compiled in 2000, in conjunction with the dedication of the William W. Burchfiel, Sr. Geography Building on the University of Tennessee campus (Knoxville).
The first folder includes a mini history of William W. Burchfiel, Sr.; statements of gratitude and appreciation by his daughter, Margaret Burchfiel Montgomery; various statements of tribute and memorial by family and friends, and an in-depth genealogy of the Burchfiel family. Also included in this folder is a certificate given to William W. Burchfiel, Jr., conferring membership in the First Families of Tennessee. A second copy of this certificate is in the third folder. The second folder is an extensive index to the first volume.
