Under The Rising Sun: War, Captivity and Survival 1941-1945 by Edward W. Weiss, 1992
This collection contains research collected by Wiley O. Woods, Jr. and Ed Weiss. It concerns the detachment of Air Force men who were sent to San Jose, Mindoro, Philippine Islands during the early days of World War II, and who spent 37 months in a Prisoner of War camp (Tan Toey) on the island of Ambon.
Edward W. Weiss's book Under The Rising Sun: War, Captivity and Survival 1941-1945 (Published by Edward W. Weiss, Erie, Pa., 1992) is included in the collection. Also found are correspondence, notes, book manuscripts, rosters, histories, reunion notices and rosters, diaries, and maps, all of which are addressed to or written by Wiley O. Woods, Jr.
