The manuscript contains the memories of Lera Knox, as well as travel articles she wrote for the Nashville Banner. The memories give a brief history of Lera's family, covering the Colonial period to the 1960's. Lera's narrative account of Columbia stops in 1933. From this point on the manuscript is a travelogue.
