Letter from WWII soldier to his mom, 1945 July 13

 File — Box: 1, item: 1
From the Collection:

A World War II soldier's letter written to his mom on July 13, 1945. Signed W. L. B. and written from Germany the soldier talks about his feelings about the war, and the upcoming occupation.

He also writes about wanting to come home as soon as possible, but he is pretty sure that he will get put on Occupation Duty. He writes that he has achieved five combat stars and 78 points, which does not make him eligible to get out.

He writes his own perspective of the world: there isn't much here in this wrecked world for anybody but trouble. Wicked Rulers and dumb people it is bad. It sure is good to be an American.
