The Moore Family Collection consists of correspondence, photographs, and other papers, both personal and professional. The most prevalent family members in the collection are J. L. Moore, J. A. Moore, Paul A. Moore, and Mabel Moore.

Series I: Daybooks / Guidebooks (1829-1960) consists of diaries and journals detailing family activities and accounting histories.

Series II: Songbooks (1897-1911) is a comprised of songbooks and hymnals from East Tennessee area churches and Tusculum College.

Series III: Correspondence (1898-1946) contains letters written to and from various members of the Moore family. However, the bulk of this series is comprised of letters from Paul A. Moore while he worked and studied around the U. S., as well as during his military service overseas.

Series IV: Tusculum College (1794-1935) consists of a variety of materials such as dimplomas, correspondence, photographs, newspaper articles, and course catalogs. Several members of the Moore family were involved with the college; as graduates, board members, and in the case of J. L. Moore, college president.

Series V: Photographs (undated) is a large collection of family photographs ranging in dates from early to mid 1800's to the mid 1940's. This series contains photographs made using a variety of photographic processes, but the most prevalent is the gelatin silver print. Nearly all the images are undated and consist of unidentified subjects.

Series VI: World's Fair (1982) contains memorabilia from the fair such as weekly event newspapers that detail fair activites. This series also has buttons and brochures from the 1982 event.

Series VII: Other Family Papers (1794-1950) contains a mixture of items from other Moore family members. Items such as tax receipts, papers about the Tennessee militia, land records and surveys, and papers concerning the U. S. Civil War can be found in this series.
