Research, 1752-1912
The research and articles of Patricia Clark document Andrew Johnson, his history, estate, and family through letters, articles, photographs, and clippings. Series I is based on Clark's research. It contains the articles that she wrote for Beacham Press and the Andrew Johnson Project History.
Items 3 through 11, Series II, consist of her research tracing the Johnson family into the collateral families and more histories of associated families, such as the Stover family of Bluff City or the McDonough family (Johnson's mother's family).
Artist George P. A. Healy exhibits the Newberry Library's collection of his paintings through a series of photographs in Items 5 and 6, while excerpts from the 1830-1831 Mayor's Book [of Greeneville] can be found in Item 9.
