Letter, 1866 September 25
The Henry B. Wetzell Correspondence consists of two letters written to his father while enlisted as a soldier in the 51st Pennsylvania Infantry during the Civil War. In the first letter, dated January 17, 1863, from Strawberry Plains, Tenn., Wetzell mentions their pursuit of Longstreet, the 2nd U. S. Artillery in Knoxville, Tenn. and a transfer from the 51st Pa. to the 11th NHV. Wetzell also discusses his decision not to re-enlist. In the second letter, dated September 25, 1866, Wetzell mentions how he is getting his specimens and circulars ready. An envelope addressed to Mr. Aaron Wetzell in Slifer, P. A. is also included.
