Incomplete affidavit attesting to the hardships of Edgar Johnson's family, circa 1918
This collection contains two handwritten affidavits, one incomplete and the other a copy of a notarized version, attesting to the hardships faced by Edgar Johnson's wife and daughter while he is away from home in the army. A shortage of labor to work their thirty acre farm has left the family in need, and none of the couple's parents can afford to help.
Interested researchers may also wish to consult MS.2957: Edgar Johnson Letters, 1917 and MS.3119: Edgar Johnson Letters, 1918.
