This October 9, 1863, letter is to a Mr. A. Douglas from George E. Moore of the Signal Corps under Gen. [probably George Henry] Thomas in Chattanooga, Tenn. Moore notifies Douglas that rebel forces captured John [no last name] as a prison of war when returning from the Sequachee Valley, and he details the circumstances surrounding the capture.
