Jerome Jacobs World War II Memoirs, undated
The bulk of this manuscript, entitled Some Came Home, constitutes a detailed description of Jacobs' fighter pilot training in the United States and of his flying experiences in Europe. He gives technical descriptions of the planes he flew, including the P-40 and P-51 Mustang. Jacobs discusses his involvement in Operation Market Garden, including his crash and subsequent capture and confinement as a prisoner of war at Stalag Luft III. He mentions having met George Patton, describes his experiences with women during the war, and discusses technical aspects of flight.
