Letter, Wilbur P. Buck to Charlotte Lottie
Smith, 1862 October 9
Camp Fuller Oct. 9th—62
Friend Lottie, Yours came to hand this morning, and I will replay soon. I have not much time to write this morning, for Surgion’s call—
You may feel desirous to know when we leave here. And as I am assured that we will go Monday next, I think I can safely say we will leave on that day—
We are not going pass Marengo I understand, but by the way of Woodstock. If you wish to see me again before I leave you must try and come up, or go to Woodstock Monday—I should be glad to see you again Lottie before I leave this State, And in fact I can hardly content myself to go before seeing you again. But if I must, Why I must that is all about. But if I cannot meet you again, it is my wish that I may sometime or other either here on Earth or in a better place. I understand a company is coming up from Marengo to give us a picknick. I shall think it strange if you don’t come up—
I must close if this goes
