Kind Friend

I seat myself to pen you A few lines let you now that I am Well at present and hope when this comes wherever it may find you in the same. State of helth well Bill we have had Hard times I Rote last we have ben in Nashville for som three months and a good part of the time we havent very moutch to eat only what we get out of the surrounding Country and you may think ther wasn’t very moutch Well bill we ben in three fits and we made them get up dust We out fought them at tavern and got som tow hundred of them we got out at 5 o clock in the eaven and marcht 15 miles and mad the attack at 4 in the morning and that was before daylight and the first thing the rebels new they were nothing as we were behind them and they had now place to get out and they gave them hell with the artillery for sometime and then our regiment made a charge on the 32 Alabama Regement and mad them give it in and the calvry made there way out we hadent one man hurt out of our regiment but there was som hurt out in another we had a small fight before Nashville and dident any hurt and we had one at Nelly’s Bend on the Cumberlan and got one killed We have had very good luck since we came into the service and we have a good regiment there was for some tow months that all communication was cut of from our but we did the best that we had had the galent Negly at our head and we dident want for any thing but grub and money and show and you may think what kind of times that we had I ran 15 miles with one shoe on and the other off after Rebels so you may think what kind of time that we had while we lay at the City of Nashville Well Bill I havent very moutch to rite this time but I want you to write to me this time and tell Henry [Owns?] to Bill and give my respects to all inquire friend
