Dear Sir,

The fine filly, by Bollivar, which you had the goodness to let me have, reached me in fine condition on the 8th instant. She comes up to my highest expectations, and is a perfect likeness of Bollivars grand dam. I shall endeavour to have her well raised, and I trust will add fame to your fine stock—in due time I will send you one of my best blooded stock which will I hope make a valuable cross upon yours.
