December 10th

I received your letters was sorry to hear you was sick got the money order, of course was very proud of such a present but feel like it is most to much for I want to see you able to get out of that sickly place I told Sue you wer sick she said why dident aunt Ann, make you some tea she don’t know there is any other medicine she never has tasted anything else. we wer all siting around the fire today reading & she looked up and said she was getting [illegible] with her reading she must get it up. I took her and John with me to Knoxville the ball and stayed awak they were like the clamfisher the world was bigger then they though it was we got a letter from Ferd this week they are well he said he saw Calvin a few days ago Jane was very sick Nathan has bought the cox farm on the road this side of his house Jane and John is still it school it will be out next Friday the first term. I guess they will go on until spring it is a little hard on me but she is so anxious to go I will make out someway we are going to town to Maryville to fix up a little fro Christmas Eleven coming over and we have meeting also I would have Susies picture taken but it is to cold to take here with us this time I will send it before long, you must excus short letters it is getting late and they are all asleep but ma and I are very near it write and let us know if the water is rising on your town again your mother
