These three publications of the United States Air Force contain information pertaining to air strategy during World War II. The first, Air Defense in Theory and Practice: 1918-1945 by Denys Volan, provides a brief introduction to the development of conventional air defense tactics from the advent of auxiliary military air forces in World War I to their most prevalent implementation during World War II. The second publication, entitled Mission Accomplished: Interrogations of Japanese Industrial, Military, and Civil Leaders of World War II, contains a series of interviews conducted with a wide range of Japanese officials following the surrender of the Japanese Empire in 1945. The third publication, Impact: Air Victory over Japan, printed in 1945 September-October, is the final issue of a series published by the Office of the Assistant Chief of Air Staff. It contains photographs and text detailing the history of air operations against Japan in World War II from the bombing of Pearl Harbor to the use of the atomic bombs in 1945 August.
