This collection consists of travel journals, photographs, letters, and a notebook of collected writings and clippings all relating to attorney Cary G. Brance. Included in the journals is an account of Branch's trip to Nashville and Knoxville. The material spans 1948-1992 though the majority of items date from the 1960s and 1970s.

The collection is arranged into three series:

Series I - Journals (1956-1992) include two travel journals and a journal on the maintenance and garden additions that Branch made at his home. One journal has accounts of Branch's trips to Nashville and Knoxville to visit family. It also includes a newspaper clipping of his sister's account of her vacation in California. There are detailed expense reports and day trips. Most of the trips are to other areas in Southwest America, especially California.

Series II - Black and white photographs holds ten pictures of various people and places. There is no identifying information on or with this images.

Series III - Other Items Belonging to Cary G. Branch (1948-1981) includes a series of letters from 1962-1963 to J. Thornton & Son and the Society for Hellenic Studies regarding catalogue items on Roman Antiquities and the Journal of Hellenic Studies. There is also a notebook, compiled by Branch, which contains several limericks, poems, magazine and newspaper clippings, and epitaphs. Most of these are not dated. However, some of the clippings have dates, and there is a post-marked envelope containing clippings dated to 1948.

Biographical/Historical Note

Cary Glover Branch Jr. (1908-1995), criminal defense attorney, was born to Cary G. Branch Sr. and Estelle Adams in Lexington, Missouri. He married Annie Chapman on August 2, 1937. Later, Branch married Eva Mae Trail. They had no children. He lived most of his life in Los Angeles, California.

Collection consists of four folders divided into three series - Series I: Journals; Series II: Black and White Photographs; and Series III: Other Items Belonging to Cary G. Branch.
